Accessibility is mandatory by law!
By Florian Streup
The EU Directive 2016/2102 offers a real opportunity for accessibility on the Internet. The EU obliges its member states to ensure the implementation of the requirements for barrier-free access to the websites of public bodies, including intranet and downloads as well as mobile applications.
"Access4All has set itself the goal of providing comprehensive information on the subject of accessibility and creating analyses and solutions for commercial website operators"
The EU directive primarily only regulates the accessibility of websites and apps of public institutions. In the medium term, it can be assumed that these laws will also be extended to commercial websites.
Irrespective of this, everyone should be able to use websites according to their personal preferences in order to ensure improved usability and accessibility.
Now imagine what happens when a user can use your website without frustration! He will come back and even recommend your site to his friends and acquaintances!
Based on our personal experience with friends and acquaintances and through professional user surveys, we have identified the problems that people with visual problems face.
We then formed a team of budding e-commerce specialists and computer scientists and started developing Eye-Able, a tool for website operators to improve the aforementioned problems.
With the help of our software, you offer your customers the opportunity to customize the site according to their individual preferences. By changing font sizes and contrasts, you make your users' online experience unique and you will certainly be the first choice when they return to your site!
